About Secure in Self

A book for the part of you that waits by the phone.

Meet Julie Duchêne

Julie didn’t set out to write a book. She set out to understand why a single unanswered message could ruin her whole day.

After a particularly toxic relationship left her anxious, hypervigilant and unsure of her own worth, she started reading everything she could find on attachment (research papers, clinical books, case studies) and began working with a therapist. Six years later, she’s still in therapy, still curious, and far more secure.

From Anxious Attachment to Secure is what came out of those years: the research she wishes someone had handed her, translated into plain words and practical steps, alongside what genuinely changed things in her own life. She’s 29, and she writes for anyone who’s tired of loving from a place of fear.
